Le Parisien reports that Paris prosecutors have requested that five men, including 21-year-old Ilyas Kherbouch, stand trial over the July 2023 home invasion of former PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Kherbouch, known as "Ganito", is accused of orchestrating the raid from his cell. He escaped from Villepinte prison in Seine-Saint-Denis in March for nearly two weeks. His lawyer, May Sarah Vogelhut, declined to comment.

In the night of 20 to 21 July 2023, at around three in the morning, a team of four entered Donnarumma’s apartment on Avenue Montaigne in Paris’s eighth arrondissement. They restrained Donnarumma and his partner at gunpoint and assaulted them.

The thieves fled with watches, jewellery and luxury leather goods worth about €500,000. Donnarumma suffered minor injuries, his partner was unharmed. The couple, in shock, were treated in hospital.

The Paris prosecutor’s office opened an investigation for armed robbery in an organised gang, unlawful confinement in an organised gang and aggravated violence, with the case assigned to the BRB.
