Protests outside FIGC headquarters after Italy’s Bosnia shock | OneFootball

Italy’s shocking loss to Bosnia in the FIFA World Cup playoff final has sparked an angry reaction from many. The FIGC’s headquarters in Rome witnessed protests from several, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the running of the Italian game.

Corriere dello Sport report that FIGC president Gabriele Gravina returned from Bosnia today morning right after Italy lost to their playoff final last night. He went directly to the FIGC headquarters, which became the target of protests.

Many fans threw eggs and flower boxes outside the building, expressing their anger at the situation. Gravina left the venue quietly but a general meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow to assess the Italian sport’s future.

The meeting will have members of Serie A, Serie B, Serie C, the National Amateur League, the Footballers’ Association, and the Coaches’ Association.

It remains to be seen if Gravina will leave from his position though, having made it clear that he is currently not willing to depart.
