Manchester United are reportedly willing to part ways with their captain, Bruno Fernandes, for a considerably high price tag.
The Portuguese playmaker has been the club’s most influential player since joining the Red Devils in January 2020.
Despite the arrival of impactful new stars like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo last summer, and the ongoing Kobbie Mainoo revival under Michael Carrick, Bruno remains a notch above all others in terms of quality, and his incredible stats for him.
Even before being appointed interim head coach. Carrick had hailed the 31-year-old as a ‘generational’ player last year.
So the question remains: Are Man Utd willing to part ways with their standout performer?
According to the Daily Briefing, the United hierarchy would love to keep Fernandes at the club for as long as possible, considering him ‘indispensable’.
However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox realise that next summer represents their last chance to cash in on a player who’s on the wrong side of 30, as his contract will expire in June 2027.
Therefore, the source reveals that Man Utd are open to selling Bruno, but only for a sizable transfer fee, setting their initial price tag at £87 million.
Fernandes has long been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. Last year, Al-Hilal offered him £200 million in wages over three years, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr could try their luck next summer.
However, the report reveals that the attacking midfielder still has the desire to win more silverware in Europe, especially after failing to find the desired success at Man Utd on the collective level.

The Daily Briefing names Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as the players’ two biggest suitors on the Old Continent.
Both clubs win domestic titles on an almost yearly basis, while challenging for Champions League glory. A move to PSG would see him link up with a Portuguese contingent that includes Vitinha, Nuno Mendes and Joao Neves.
For their part, Man Utd would receive a major financial boost that can help them fund their midfield revamp, but they would certainly struggle to fill the enormous gap caused by the captain’s departure.
For his part, former Liverpool and Man Utd striker Michael Owen insisted that replacing Fernandes remains an impossible task for the club.
