PSG Begins Preparations for the Announcement of Dro Fernández

It’s only a matter of days, maybe even hours, and PSG Talk can exclusively reveal that PSG has already begun preparing communications for the arrival of the 18-year-old Spaniard.

After several weeks of negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona, Dro Fernández is expected to arrive in the French capital shortly. Days of negotiations between the two clubs were necessary because in Spain, the player’s €6 million release clause must be paid by the player himself, and in addition, there is a 47% tax on the clause.

This situation in Spain obviously changed the situation for PSG. The Parisian club therefore increased its offer, and the total transfer fee is expected to be around €7 million. Hansi Flick, the German coach of FC Barcelona, was increasingly counting on the player, but seduced by Luis Enrique’s promise that he would get more playing time in Paris than in Barcelona, the player only wanted PSG.

It was a strong choice by the young Spaniard, despite strong interest from Manchester City, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund, who offered him a better salary. Another important piece of information for the European champions, with eight days to go before the transfer window closes (on 2 February), Dro Fernández is likely to be the only new arrival at PSG.

The player, considered one of the best young Spaniards of his generation, is set to sign a new four-and-a-half-year contract with PSG until June 30, 2030.
