The spectacular 5:4 between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern not only thrilled the fans, but also made a lasting impression on PSG coach Luis Enrique. For the Spaniard, the semi-final first leg was a very special experience – and also the basis for a clear statement ahead of the second leg in Munich

„That was the best game I’ve been involved in as a coach, without a doubt,“ said Enrique after the final whistle and went into raptures. „I’ve never seen such intensity, such pace and such a physical level. We have to congratulate everyone.“

Despite the narrow victory, the 55-year-old did not want to assess the result in isolation. „We deserved to win today, we deserved a draw and we deserved to lose,“ he said, underlining the balance of this extraordinary duel: „It was a fantastic game.“

Enrique took the fact that his team almost let a 5:2 lead slip from their grasp in the meantime in his stride. „When you have a three-goal lead, your opponents take a lot of risks,“ he explained in an interview with Canal+. At the same time, he acknowledged the quality of Munich: „They are at a very high level. It was complicated and it will be in the second leg too.“

For Enrique, it is clear that the second clash will be anything but easy. FC Bayern have only lost three games this season – a statistic that underlines the PSG coach’s respect. „Both teams have shown their character,“ he emphasized

A clear roadmap for Munich

Looking ahead to the second leg, Enrique formulated a remarkably offensive objective: „I asked my staff: how many goals do you think we need to progress? They said: at least three,“ revealed the PSG coach

The message is clear: PSG do not want to limit themselves to defending their narrow lead in Munich, but actively aim for the next victory. „We will go to Munich with a clear idea: to attack and win the game,“ Enrique announced

The players also shared this attitude. Captain Marquinhos spoke of „a real joy“ to have been part of this game, while double goalscorer Ousmane Dembélé described the duel as „incredible“. For him, the task is clear: „Now we’re going to Munich to try to win another game.“

The starting position promises a second leg that will be in no way inferior to the spectacle in Paris. Both teams are on the offensive – and want to force their way into the final with all their might.
