Paris Saint-Germain are considering signing a centre-forward following Gonçalo Ramos’ (23) serious ankle injury, according to a report from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The Portuguese striker was forced off during Les Parisiens‘ season-opening 4-1 away win against Le Havre. Ramos assisted PSG’s first goal, scored by Lee Kang-in. The former SL Benfica went down following a challenge from Le Havre’s Youte Kinkoue and made way for France international Randal Kolo Muani.

Ramos was pictured wearing a protective boot and PSG head coach Luis Enrique feared that his player’s injury was serious. Le Parisien reported this Saturday that Ramos had fractured his left ankle. In their medical statement, PSG confirmed that Ramos is set to undergo surgery after sustaining a serious ligament sprain in his left ankle.

The Portugal international is therefore expected to miss up to three months of action, a considerable blow for Les Parisiens as they search for a successor to the free-scoring Kylian Mbappé. According to Sports Zone, Luis Enrique asked the Ligue 1 champions’ executives to sign a centre-forward given Ramos’ lengthy spell on the sidelines.
