PSG and Barcelona are set to clash on October 1 in the UEFA Champions League league phase, carrying strong starts in the competition into the match.
The reigning Champions League winners opened their campaign with a dominant 4-0 victory over Atalanta, scoring twice in each half despite missing Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé.
Barcelona answered with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Newcastle United, powered by a brace from Marcus Rashford. With both teams considered serious contenders, this showdown could be pivotal in shaping the league-phase standings.

Le Parisien reports that Vitinha is expected to be available against Barcelona, as the news isn’t particularly alarming. Moreover, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has shown he can recover extremely quickly. Another race against time has just begun.
Fabián Ruiz (rested) and João Neves have a good chance of being ready for the Barcelona match. Paris would have liked Neves to get a few minutes of game time this weekend.
Meanwhile, Désiré Doué is not expected to return to the squad in time for Barcelona. He’s on the right track in his recovery, but will likely be a bit short for this trip.
On the other side, Barcelona have been hit by injuries to Raphinha and Joan García, but they get a lift as Lamine Yamal is back to full fitness after missing the last few games.
“We all believe it’s the perfect moment for Lamine to come back,” Flick told reporters. “We’re delighted to have him available against Real Sociedad. If he’s on the bench, that means he’s ready for minutes.”
