Ibrahima Konaté is entering the final months of his Liverpool contract, and no extension has been agreed upon, fueling speculation about a potential move to PSG.

Liverpool now face a choice: try to sell him in the January transfer window, keep pushing for a new deal, or accept that he could leave on a free transfer.

Foot Mercato recently reported that several top European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have been monitoring Konaté. Last summer, Liverpool opted to retain him rather than entertain offers.

The Athletic noted that Real Madrid’s long-standing interest has cooled in recent months, partly due to inconsistent performances.

Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke reports that Konaté may sign a new contract in the coming weeks, even though his current deal runs out this summer and he has been frequently linked with a move away.

The French center-back and his representatives have turned down several renewal offers in the past, but optimism is rising that an agreement could be reached this time.

“The centre-back and his camp have already knocked back several attempts from the Reds to try and secure his future, but it could yet prove to be a different story this time around,” O’Rourke wrote.

“Sources have indicated to Football Insider that Liverpool are once again in ‘ongoing talks’ with Konaté over the prospect of a new deal as the all-important January window approaches on the horizon.”
