PSG struggled early against Bayern Munich, falling behind twice to Luis Díaz in the opening half. Their problems intensified when Achraf Hakimi was forced off after a tackle from Díaz.

Hakimi left the field in tears, unable to put weight on his left foot and needing assistance to walk. After a VAR review, Díaz was shown a straight red card, leaving Bayern Munich with 10 men for the second half.

Adding to PSG’s woes, Ousmane Dembélé also suffered an injury in the first half, making it a difficult opening 45 minutes.

Despite the numerical advantage, PSG managed just one goal. The match finished 2-1 in favor of Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes, giving Luis Enrique’s side a disappointing win.

Furthermore, Nuno Mendes has a sprained left knee and will also undergo treatment in the coming weeks, and Désiré Doué continues with his rehabilitation.

Enrique also spoke about the incident and didn’t blame Diaz for the injury to Hakimi, citing it as a regular part of football and the physicality of the sport.

“We have to wait until tomorrow after the tests to know about the players’ injuries,” Enrique said at his press conference (h/t RMC Sport). “For Ousmane, it has nothing to do with the previous one.

“But he played for the time you saw. Hakimi’s situation is part of football — it’s a contact sport. It’s unfortunate. It’s tough for the players. I remember, for example, Musiala’s injury. Tomorrow will be the day when the doctors provide updates.”
