Paris Saint-Germain could be looking to bolster its backline this summer as it continues to inject younger talent into the defense. Over the past few transfer windows, Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho arrived, and another name could be coming soon.
With Milan Skriniar’s likely permanent departure, Marquinhos’s aging, and Lucas Hernandez and Presnel Kimpembe’s uncertain futures, PSG’s defense needs younger and healthier legs.
Nonetheless, the capital club aren’t pushing for a player in their earlier 20s, they are reportedly keen on someone who is entering the prime years of his career to be a go-to defender for manager Luis Enrique.

German outlet Bild reports (h/t Paris Fans) that PSG are targeting Nico Schlotterbeck, the 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund defender, under contract until 2027.
Nonetheless, the Ligue 1 side aren’t alone in this transfer race as a Premier League club have the German defender on their radar. The Daily Mail reports (h/t Sky Sports) that Liverpool are reportedly also keen on signing Schlotterbeck as a possible long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Regarding the asking price, Transfermarkt puts the player’s transfer value at €40 million.
