Szperkowska joined parent club Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year and she made two appearances for The Parisians in last season’s Arkema Première Ligue. The keeper has also turned out for UKS Orzeł Wałcz, UKS SMS Łódź and KKS Czarni Sosnowiec in her career to date.

On the international stage, Szperkowska is a member of Poland’s national team. She has been included in several squads but is yet to make her senior debut for her country.

After joining Birmingham City, Szperkowska said “Birmingham is a great place. They showed trust in me. It is a new experience for me working with new players, a new goalkeeper coach and it is very good for a young goalkeeper.

“It is a new country for me. I wanted to test myself in a new league.”

Szperkowska could be involved with the Birmingham City squad when they travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City on Sunday afternoon.
