Paris Saint-Germain could be drawn into the barbouzeries affair after a relative of Thiago Silva told police he stayed in France using a fake work attestation allegedly supplied by a club employee. According to L'Équipe, his prefecture file carried the note "intervention PSG", while the club denies offence and says it has not been interviewed.

Opened in 2021, the case examines influence peddling, harassment and aid to irregular stay, including alleged small favours by officials for VIP seats. Two figures close to the club, Tayeb Benabderrahmane and Malik Naït-Liman, are under formal investigation and deny wrongdoing, saying they only helped with paperwork.

Police searched PSG on 13 February 2024 and seized guest lists, then heard on 20 September 2024 from Marcos R., Silva’s cousin. He said a staffer named Nour guided him towards a fictitious contract at Goldmoon Transfert to support his file.

The Yvelines prefecture emailed Nour and a PSG security deputy in March 2019 to arrange an appointment, the file noting "Suite intervention PSG". Officials later flagged anomalies in the attestation and viewed the contract as fraudulent. The moving firm is said to have been run behind the scenes by Benabderrahmane.

Marcos R. later secured a permanent job and used it to renew his permit, which still referenced "interv. PSG". PSG says it did not intervene. The club’s lawyer says Nasser al-Khelaïfi is a civil party and that a complaint was filed in May 2024 for attempted blackmail, theft, forgery, use of forgeries, false accusation and attempted fraud.
