According to a report by Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain are nearing a deal with SL Benfica for João Neves (19). The two clubs are thought to have had a round of positive discussions today and the French champion now want to seal the deal next week for the midfielder.
It had been previously reported that PSG had no intention of meeting the release clause in Neves’ contract which would have seen the club spend €120 million for the player. Instead, Les Parisiens are discussing a deal which would see them pay €70 million with players like Renato Sanches (26) also included in the final offering.
Neves is believed to have already given his blessing for the move and has agreed on personal terms with PSG. However, the club would be far from finished in bolstering their midfield options even if they secure the Portuguese international’s signature with the club also lodging an improved bid for Désiré Doué (19).
