Wednesday’s reports indicate that PSG are progressing in talks to sign Japan international goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma this summer, and that the Parisians could also be open to sending the 23-year-old out on an immediate loan deal.

Report: PSG open to signing and then loaning out Suzuki

Suzuki has attracted interest from several high-profile clubs across Europe this summer, including from PSG and Juventus.

Parma are reportedly seeking a fee in the region of €30m if they are to part ways with their goalkeeper this summer. Suzuki has 57 Serie A appearances to his name over the last two seasons and has already amassed 28 caps for Japan by the age of 23.

According to Footmercato’s Santi Aouna, PSG have been in contact with Parma, Suzuki and his representatives over the last few days and are beginning to make progress in negotiations.

The €30m price tag is not expected to be an issue for PSG, but resolving their goalkeeping hierarchy could be slightly more problematic. That is because Matvey Safonov is now the club’s undisputed no.1, despite the fact that the club spent in excess of €50m including bonuses on the signing of Lucas Chevalier last summer.

With Safonov expected to hold onto the no.1 shirt heading into the 2026-27 season, Wednesday’s reports claim that PSG could be open to the idea of sending Suzuki out on an immediate loan deal if they were to sign him, in order to provide him with consistent playing time during his first season on the club’s books.
