En route to an eventual 1-1 stalemate, Mukiele was forced into a departure from proceedings, inside the opening quarter of an hour.

This came owing to a nasty clash with Clermont shot-stopper Massamba Ndiaye, which left the former grounded and bloodied.

Upon being seen to by PSG’s medical team, it was quickly decided that Mukiele was in no condition to continue.

With first-choice right-back Achraf Hakimi already ruled out of the club’s upcoming Champions League meeting with Barcelona through suspension, as much marked an understandable source of concern for all associated with the French champions.

Such individuals, on Sunday, will in turn no doubt be keen to hear of an update on Mukiele’s wellbeing coming to the fore.

As revealed in an official statement across PSG’s website and social media platforms:

‘Nordi Mukiele suffered a blow to the head during yesterday’s match against Clermont and was forced to withdraw following the application of concussion protocol put in place by the FFF. He will undergo further tests with a specialist neurologist tomorrow. A further update will follow.’
