PSG clinched the French title with a 2-0 win at Lens on Wednesday, sealing a 14th Ligue 1 crown and pulling further clear of Saint-Étienne and Marseille.
According to L'Équipe, this comes 40 years after their first Division 1 triumph in 1986, and leaves a four-title gap to Saint-Étienne on 10. Les Verts have not been champions since 1981 and are in Ligue 2, so closing that gap appears distant.
Marseille sit third with nine titles, still chasing a first crown in more than a decade. Monaco and Nantes are level on eight, with the Canaries newly relegated to Ligue 2.
Lyon hold the record for consecutive titles, seven in total, all won between 2002 and 2008.
Bordeaux and Reims have six each. Reims dominated the 1950s and early 1960s, while Bordeaux’s 2009 triumph feels a long way off after their spell in National 2.
Lille and Nice have four apiece. Sochaux and Sète have two, and seven clubs have one title each: Olympique lillois, RC Paris, Roubaix-Tourcoing, Strasbourg, Auxerre, Lens and Montpellier.
