PSG have paused all contract extension talks in recent weeks to keep the squad focused on chasing a second Champions League title, according to L'Équipe.
Under Nasser al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and Luis Enrique, PSG have again stopped renewals during the season’s decisive stretch.
Talks had run for nine months with proposals made, some cases already settled, including Beraldo, Neves, Pacho and Fabian Ruiz, others needing more time. When the real matches arrive, discussions stop to avoid friction.
Senny Mayulu, contracted to 2027, endured a trickier spell while his camp held tense exchanges with Campos. No meetings are set before the final for Bradley Barcola, Lee Kang-In and Ousmane Dembélé, all tied to 2028.
After the 2025 final in Munich, a 5-0 win over Inter Milan, Campos quickly resumed meetings. He was already working on Illia Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier, with Renato Marin signed.
The freeze brings on-pitch benefits, yet opens space for rivals. English clubs are courting Barcola and his situation has not moved.
Player entourages have not criticised the timing, some even see an upside. A deep run, especially a triumph, can strengthen agents at the next talks. For Dembélé, figures shifted markedly as the season progressed. The framework was set before the pause, and all parties are confident the Ballon d'Or will agree a long-term deal.
