According to L'Équipe, Vitinha led the way for PSG in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, while Ousmane Dembélé lacked threat after missing an early penalty.
Bradley Barcola earned a penalty inside the first minute, but Dembélé saw Nick Pope save in the fourth minute. Vitinha then struck from distance on eight minutes, with Kvaratskhelia supplying the pass. Kvaratskhelia later went off after a tackle by Elanga on 22 minutes, replaced by D. Doué, who struggled to influence.
Newcastle levelled at 45+2 after Marquinhos misdirected a header, which led to the equaliser.
Returning from injury, Safonov justified selection ahead of Chevalier with decisive interventions at 51, 73 and 86, though his long passing irritated Luis Enrique. Achraf Hakimi looked short of rhythm on his first start back, Pacho was assured, and Nuno Mendes threatened in bursts.
Warren Zaïre-Emery impressed early on his midfield return, but should have done better with a close-range effort at 59. J. Neves worked hard yet was subdued in possession. Dembélé operated as a false nine, found good positions but lacked speed and precision, while Barcola’s influence faded before G. Ramos came on at 70.
