PSG remain unwilling to sanction a winter exit for Lee Kang-in, who is under contract until 2028, despite Atlético de Madrid’s sustained interest.
According to AS, Atlético hold a very strong interest in the 24-year-old South Korea international, capped 44 times with 10 goals. The Colchoneros have tracked him since before his Paris move, when they had already made an offer.
Atlético are attempting to persuade PSG to release the attacking midfielder, but they face Luis Enrique’s determination to keep him.
Last summer the former Mallorca player expressed a desire to leave, yet the club shut the door, viewing him as important to the squad. He has been out since mid-December with a thigh injury.
A fuller review is expected before next summer, when Paris will have several sensitive cases to handle. With two years remaining on his deal at that point, the 1.73 m left-footer could even enter extension talks in the coming weeks.
