Paris Saint-Germain have signed Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax on a five-year contract to 2031. The transfer is worth 55 million euros including bonuses. The club said in a statement that he will wear number 22 following Saturday’s announcement.

The 21-year-old turned professional at Ajax in 2023 and broke through last season. He scored 17 goals and delivered 12 assists in the Dutch league, where he was named Young Player of the Year.

The announcement also carried Godts’s message of pride at joining one of the world’s leading clubs and eagerness to discover the Parc des Princes and its supporters.

A Neymar admirer, Godts is noted for direct dribbling and one-v-one ability. An April strike against Breda, after beating three defenders and the goalkeeper, drew comparisons with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s famed 2004 Ajax goal versus the same opponents.

PSG continue to reshape their attack after bringing in Maghnès Akliouche and Ferran Torres to offset the departures of Lee Kang-in and Gonçalo Ramos. Godts’s arrival could cast further doubt on Bradley Barcola’s future, with the Frenchman strongly linked to Liverpool.
