According to SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain have intensified their pursuit of Ferran Torres after missing out on Yan Diomande, whose move to Real Madrid forced the French champions to rethink their transfer plans.

Having already reached agreements for the arrivals of attacking midfielders Mika Godts from Ajax and Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, PSG are now shifting their full attention to signing the Barcelona forward.

According to the report, the Parisian giants have made it clear to Ferran that they are prepared to offer him significantly better terms than any renewal proposal Barcelona may present.

Luis Campos ready to focus on the deal

PSG delayed their pursuit of a striker until they had greater clarity over their incoming and outgoing transfers.

With Goncalo Ramos already sold to AC Milan and Randal Kolo Muani close to completing a permanent move to Juventus, sporting director Luis Campos is now expected to concentrate on securing Ferran’s signature.

The French club believes the operation is well positioned to move forward. The first contacts between PSG and Ferran’s camp reportedly took place during the World Cup.

Those conversations left the French club with the impression that the Barcelona attacker was at least willing to listen to their project.

PSG believe the opportunity to work under Luis Enrique, combined with the club’s sporting ambitions and financial strength, makes the proposal particularly attractive.

Five-year contract prepared

As per the report, PSG are prepared to offer Ferran a five-year contract.

It would come with a salary substantially higher than his current Barcelona wages, meaning a long-term financial security during the peak years of his career.

The French and European champions are also confident they can improve on any renewal offer Barcelona are expected to make later in the transfer window.

Barcelona want to keep Ferran

Despite PSG’s optimism, the situation has become more complicated.

Ferran’s impressive World Cup performances, combined with Barcelona’s continued difficulty in signing a new striker, have strengthened his importance within Hansi Flick’s squad.

The Blaugrana are now expected to push hard to keep the Spanish international, although the delay in offering him a contract extension has frustrated both the player and his representatives.

Ferran has been disappointed that several teammates received new deals before discussions over his own future advanced.

Decision rests with the player

The forward remains strongly attached to Barcelona and knows his opportunities could increase significantly if the club fail to complete the signing of Julian Alvarez.

At the same time, he is aware that earning a regular starting role at PSG would also be highly competitive given the quality of their attacking options.

With multiple sporting and financial factors to consider, the final decision rests entirely with Ferran.
