PSG’s bid to buy the Parc des Princes has moved into a new phase, with expansion plans back on the table.

According to L'Équipe, a first steering committee met at 17:00 on Thursday at Paris City Hall. It was co-chaired by Emmanuel Grégoire, Jérémy Redler and PSG chief executive Victoriano Melero, and gathered state and political stakeholders, including Île-de-France president Valérie Pécresse, for an hour and a half.

After opening remarks from Grégoire, participants offered brief updates. The session mainly took stock rather than delving into detail because of the size of the group. The studies will consider the stadium, its surroundings, mobility, local uses and future options for the Porte de Saint-Cloud area.

In parallel, representatives of PSG, the Paris authorities and the 16th arrondissement have been meeting every Wednesday for several weeks to work through the technical aspects of a potential sale of the Parc des Princes to the club.

Before talks resumed with the City of Paris, PSG had run models to lift capacity at the Porte de Saint-Cloud ground to near 60,000 from 48,000. Nothing has been finalised, and current feasibility work examines 60,000 to 70,000, which could bring the club’s home closer to the scale of leading European rivals.
