Liverpool wanted to negotiate a single transfer package with PSG to sign Bradley Barcola (23) and Ibrahim Mbaye (18), but the back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners turned them down, according to L’Equipe. The Premier League giants have set their sights on Barcola, with an agreement expected to be reached for the final week of the transfer window, and also made enquiries for Mbaye, with which they reportedly reached an agremeent on personal terms. However, there was a significant gap in player valuation between PSG and Liverpool.

With Liverpool’s focus on signing Barcola, and PSG’s request for two separate negotiations for the France winger and Mbaye, the latter has moved away from the Reds’ grasp. L’Equipe understands that another unnamed club is now leading the race to sign the Senegalese international, but negotiations are reportedly difficult. PSG want to nudge Mbaye towards joining the highest bidders, something that the player’s entourage may not agree to.
