Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Gonçalo Ramos (23) has successfully undergone surgery after suffering an ankle injury in the Ligue 1 curtain-raiser against Le Havre AC.
Ramos went down under a challenge from Le Havre’s Étienne Youte Kinkoue, having begun the game brightly. He was subsequently replaced by Randal Kolo Muani in the 20th minute and had to sit in the stands, wearing a protective boot, as PSG won 4-1 thanks to a flurry of late goals.
Post-match, Luis Enrique was pessimistic regarding the diagnosis, stating that he believed that Ramos had suffered a “serious” ankle injury. There was good cause for that pessimism as it quickly became evident that the Portugal international would require surgery on his left ankle.
PSG have now confirmed that Ramos has undergone surgery in Doha, Qatar. That surgery was successful and the striker will now spend the next few days resting in Qatar, before beginning his rehabilitation. An absence of around three months has been touted, however, Les Parisiens did not put any timeline on their striker’s return.
