Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano (27) has been described as “serious” by Florian Plettenberg

Upamecano could be on the move this summer. The Frenchman’s contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season, and whilst the Bundesliga champions are intent on extending his deal, as confirmed by Max Eberl, there is a chance that the France international will leave on a free transfer. He can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January.  Plettenberg adds that the centre-back has held talks with other clubs, including Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are one of the defender’s high-profile suitors. Foot Mercato even went so far as to report a verbal agreement being in place between Upamecano and the La Liga side. However, they may face competition from PSG, who are in the market for a defender and who are “seriously involved” in the deal, should he not extend his deal with the Bavarian side.

Bayern Munich want the former RB Leipzig defender to extend until 2030, but the release clause remains a sticking point.
