PSV Eindhoven were crowned Eredivisie champions on Sunday after Feyenoord failed to win at Volendam, drawing 0-0. Peter Bosz's side seal their 27th league title, and a third in succession, with five games remaining.
According to L'Équipe, PSV had already done their job on Saturday by beating Utrecht 4-3. Only a Feyenoord victory could have delayed the confirmation, but Robin Van Persie's team were held.
This campaign offered little jeopardy. Unlike last season, when Francesco Farioli's Ajax collapsed late to let PSV sneak ahead, the holders led from start to finish.
Watching from afar, Guus Til and his team-mates celebrated in front of their screens as the draw confirmed the title.
The mood was tempered by the verdict on captain Jorty Schouten's right knee, a cruciate ligament injury sustained on Saturday. The 29-year-old's setback is a blow for the squad.
