PSV Eindhoven will be without defender Armando Obispo for the next two matches after his red card against Feyenoord on Sunday, ESPN reports.

Obispo, 23, received his marching orders at De Kuip after referee Danny Makkelie was asked to review footage of the incident which led to the red card decision. Makkelie concluded that while Obispo won the header, his leading foot landed on striker Santiago Gimenez’s leg was serious foul play.

The former Vitesse loanee accepted the two-match ban along with an additional one-match ban which is suspended.

The ban will mean the young centre-back is unavailable for the KNVB Cup round of 16 clash with FC Emmen and the Eredivisie clash against Groningen – both at the Philips Stadion.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side dropped two points against the league leaders after Anwar El Ghazi and debutant Thorgan Hazard gave the visitors a two-goal lead before Arne Slot’s decision to bring on Alireza Jahanabakhsh proved a masterstroke with the Iranian international scoring a brace in the last 15 minutes of the match.
