Giorgio Perinetti has explained what Juventus can expect from Guglielmo Vicario after he completed his loan move to the club from Tottenham.

After missing out on several goalkeeper targets in recent weeks, Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Vicario from Tottenham to strengthen their squad.

The goalkeeper had been available since the end of last season after telling Spurs that he would like to try a new challenge during this campaign.

Tottenham then excluded him from their preparations for the new season, and the goalkeeper waited to find a new club before Juventus agreed to sign him.

Juventus Secure Vicario

The Old Lady had wanted to sign Alisson Becker and Emiliano Martinez at different times during the window, and they also favoured a move for Zion Suzuki over Vicario, but they could not sign any of those goalkeepers.

Having promised to sign a new goalkeeper for Luciano Spalletti, Juventus have now added Vicario to their squad. The move gives them another experienced option in goal after their previous efforts to strengthen the position failed to produce an agreement.

Vicario now has the opportunity to establish himself at Juventus after his time at Tottenham came to an end. His arrival also gives the club another player capable of competing for an important role within the squad.

Perinetti Praises Vicario

Perinetti said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“Well, I know him very well, I made him debut with Venezia in D, C and B. He’s a guy who definitely has a great mentality, a great personality, a great mental structure: these are things they can do well at Juventus. He’s a great guy, a great person, he’s a great goalkeeper, I’ve had him for three years, I can only speak highly of him”.

Perinetti’s assessment highlights the qualities he believes Vicario can bring to Juventus. His mentality, personality and experience could all help him adapt to the demands of playing for the Bianconeri.

Juventus will now hope Vicario can justify their decision to bring him to the club after missing out on several other goalkeeping targets. With Spalletti looking to build his squad, the goalkeeper will have an important role to play during the campaign.
