Marc Leonard is set for a potential exit from Birmingham City this January
QPR are reportedly among the Championship clubs that are interested in signing Marc Leonard from Birmingham City in the remainder of the January transfer window.
According to Birmingham World, the midfielder is on the Hoops’ radar amid uncertainty over his future at St. Andrew’s.
The 24-year-old joined the Blues in the 2024 summer transfer window from Brighton, but has been unable to nail down a consistent place in Chris Davies’ starting lineup in that time, with a number of players ahead of him in the pecking order.
Leonard has made 15 appearances in the Championship so far this season, but has only been in the starting 11 on five occasions, with the likes of Paik Seung-ho, Tomoki Iwata and Tommy Doyle keeping him out of the side.
This has led to speculation surrounding his future with the Midlands outfit, despite his contract running until the summer of 2028, and he could now leave before the February 2 deadline.

QPR have expressed their interest in signing Leonard this January, amid competition from a number of their second division rivals.
Julien Stéphan is seeking reinforcements to his midfield before the market shuts next month, which has led to the Birmingham player emerging on their radar.
It’s believed that a number of unnamed Championship sides have made their interest in Leonard clear, with the Hoops stepping forward as a potential option for the player.
The London outfit had their eye on Leonard prior to his move to Birmingham 18 months ago, and are now planning to reignite that interest.
It has been previously reported that the Blues are open to offers for Leonard, and it’s now been claimed that contact has been made through intermediaries between the club and QPR.
While there are multiple sides eyeing a move for Leonard, including reports of interest from MLS, the Hoops are the first club to come forward as a potential named option for the Scot.

Leonard has been unable to earn his way into Davies’ plans as a key part of the Birmingham squad, but he has still shown himself to be a capable player at Championship level.
QPR don’t have the same level of quality in midfield, but if there's one thing they aren't really lacking, it is depth - Nicolas Madsen, Jonathan Varane, Sam Field, Isaac Hayden and Kieran Morgan are all competing for two spots in the starting 11, but Varane has been linked with a move to French outfit St Etienne.
Depending on the cost of the fee though, a move for Leonard could prove a very smart piece of business for the Hoops, and could strengthen their push for promotion.
There will be a lot of suitors for Leonard this month, and Birmingham will surely be wary of selling someone to a rival for a top six place, but this could be a great next step for the player in his career.
