FLW's Wigan Athletic fan pundit has given his verdict on QPR's interest in former loanee Silko Thomas

QPR are lining up a move for ex-Wigan Athletic loanee Silko Thomas from Leicester City.
It has been exclusively revealed by FLW that the London outfit are currently considering making both a loan and permanent deal for the 21-year-old.
It’s believed that the Foxes are open to an agreement, but the two teams only have until September 1 to strike a deal before the window shuts.
The winger spent last year with the Latics, where he failed to get on the scoresheet in League One, but provided two assists from his 24 appearances before his season was cut short through a knee injury.
When asked about QPR’s interest in Thomas, FLW’s Wigan fan pundit Corey Bissell expressed his surprise at a possible move to the Championship.
He believes that the 21-year-old should be going to League Two or League One after an underwhelming stint with the Latics, and not playing a level up on what he was last season.
“To be honest, that does surprise me that he’s (potentially) getting a Championship move,” Bissell told Football League World.
“Silko Thomas really needs a League Two, League One level move to kick-start his career, to be honest.
“I could end up being wrong, but I think he needs to go somewhere and score goals and get assists and really contribute to the team - I can’t see him doing that in the Championship.
“He showed glimpses at times, I think Bolton away was his best performance, which if you’re going to pick a performance to have a best one at it is Bolton away.
“But, I don’t know, he was largely ineffective for me which, as a winger, you can’t really afford to be.”

Thomas has not featured in Leicester’s opening two league games, and appears to be far down the pecking order of Martí Cifuentes’ first-team plans, so you would've imagined another League One loan or perhaps Scotland would be a good place for the ex-Chelsea attacker to kick on.
Therefore, agreeing a loan for Thomas would be a strange move for QPR given his performances last year didn’t indicate a readiness to compete in the Championship.
Given he is still only 21, perhaps a permanent move might make more sense as they can loan him out to League One or Two in the hopes he develops into a top talent.
But that is also money spent that could instead be reinvested back into a first-team ready player, especially with Kwame Poku suffering a hamstring injury already.
