The R's are vying to enjoy a strong summer transfer window to ensure that they can launch a successful play-off bid next season.

QPR currently reside in mid-table, and will hope to end the season with victories over Derby County and automatic promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town.

The West London outfit have endured a four-game winless run, which has demonstrated why they need to add more quality to their ranks this summer.

One of the reasons QPR haven't troubled the Championship play-off spots this season is due to their relative lack of quality in midfield, although they have been plagued by defensive issues.

The West Londoners' options in the middle of the park include Isaac Hayden, Nicolas Madsen, Jonathan Varane, and Kieran Morgan, while fellow midfielder Sam Field is on loan with Norwich City.

Meanwhile, Football League World asked our R's fan pundit, Louis Moir, to name one player he'd absolutely love his club to sign once the summer transfer window opens.

Moir told FLW: "I think one player that would be an absolutely ideal signing, in the best-case scenario, would be someone like Jordan James in midfield.

"You look at the midfield, and I think in recent weeks, with Madsen being out injured, I think it's really been exposed that we probably should have signed another midfielder.

"I always thought we needed one before the start of this season, and I think it's shown now that we've struggled, or we do struggle without Madsen in there.

"Varane's been really inconsistent, and looks likely to leave in the summer. Hayden's been okay, but when he's started games, he hasn't been totally at his best, and then Morgan's been really disappointing, he probably needs a loan.

"Then, we obviously loaned out Field, who will probably leave in the summer as well. With Madsen fit, you see the difference straight away. Even when he's come back into the team at Millwall the other night as well, the difference is crazy, and I think if we had a midfield partner with him, that was on his level, or someone technically very good as well, to complement him, we wouldn't get overrun so much in midfield.

"I think Jordan James would be quite an astonishing signing. He's one of them who's probably going to have a lot of Championship, high-end Championship clubs looking at him.

"He's still so young. Leicester have been a shambles, but he's been arguably their best player. He's got a lot of goals from midfield, a few assists. He's a top player.

"It's not unrealistic. I won't say there would be no chance of QPR signing a player like that, because I think in the past we've proven we can beat clubs to signings like (Kwame) Poku, and (Richard) Kone, and Ronnie Edwards.

"I think there's been other players that probably had, on paper, bigger and better clubs looking at them, but we managed to secure them. Would it be silly to suggest Jordan James could be a QPR player? I don't think so.

"I think he did actually work with Julien Stephan when he was at Rennes in France, so there could be a little link there. Someone like him next to Nicolas Madsen. Imagine those two together, that'd be superb."

Jordan James would be an excellent signing for QPR

Leicester have majorly let themselves down this season by suffering relegation to League One, having begun the season with dreams of an instant Premier League return.

However, one Foxes star who can depart the King Power Stadium with his head held high this summer is James, who has excelled while on loan from Rennes.

The 21-year-old has notched 11 goals and four assists so far this season, which is an impressive return for any midfielder, let alone a youngster plying his trade for a side who have been relegated.

Therefore, if the R's manage to sign James this summer, it would be a great acquisition.

According to Sport Witness, QPR are eyeing a managerial swoop for Filipe Luis, who has learned his trade in the dugout with Flamengo, having previously played for Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
