RAAL La Louvière set to sign EA Guingamp defender on a free | OneFootball

Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that French defender Matthis Riou is set to sign a 3-year-deal with RAAL La Louvière. The newly promoted side have been active in putting together a squad for the Pro League after the promotion from the Challenger Pro League. Riou is available on a free after his contract expired this summer.

The 24-year-old came through the system at French side EA Guingamp and made his senior debut during the 2021/2022 campaign. Since then he has gone on to play 85 games, with one goal and one assist. Last season was the most games that Riou has played during his career, with 27 in Ligue 2 and then six in the French Cup.

RAAL are also set to enjoy their first season back in the top flight of Belgian football for some time in a brand new stadium. The side are ambitious in hoping to become a stable Pro League side within the next few seasons.
