Rafael Leão trained at Corinthians’ CT Dr. Joaquim Grava while holidaying in Brazil, keeping fit before rejoining Milan’s pre-season, and praised the club’s facilities and staff.
“Top facilities. They made me feel at ease there, everyone there.” He added: “I really liked Corinthians, the people were very good with me, the facilities were very good. I also told Milan so there would not be any friction,” he told Podpah.
He shared images from the session, including an ice bath and a run on the pitch in Corinthians training kit, and presenter Igão showed one on air.
Asked about playing in Brazil one day, he joked he would choose Corinthians, then added: “One day, yes, maybe, because I identify with the culture and the people, not in São Paulo, which is cold. And in Rio there is only one.”
Leão said he is friends with Memphis Depay and tried to meet the Corinthians No 10 in Brazil, but the Dutchman is in Ibiza on his holidays. Leão is due back at Milan on 29 July, while Depay is expected to return to the CT between Saturday and Monday.
The forward is under contract with Milan until June 2028. After seven seasons at the club, he has left open the possibility of a move in this window, with a preference for the Premier League or Spain. So far only Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray have made formal approaches.
