Rafael Leao might be a low‑key Manchester United fan, as his actions last weekend strongly hinted.
On Sunday, the Red Devils fought hard to preserve their perfect record: three wins in three, under Michael Carrick, edging Fulham 3‑2.
Man of the match Casemiro’s header from a perfectly struck Bruno Fernandes free‑kick broke the deadlock in the 19th minute.
From there, United dominated the remainder of the first half. Yet, despite their control, they failed to double the lead. That changed 11 minutes into the second half, when Matheus Cunha thundered the ball into the roof of the net from a no‑look Casemiro pass.
With a two‑goal cushion, United must have thought the job was done. However, Fulham fought back with two quick‑fire goals, almost sharing the spoils at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Benjamin Sesko refused to let them. His moment of magic in the 94th minute ensured it was United’s day.
There was plenty to savour from that win, not least the fact that Cunha seems to have rediscovered his mojo in a United shirt.
In the last three games, the Brazilian has contributed three goals: two goals and an assist.
He has now scored in back‑to‑back Premier League fixtures, strikes that United fans have relished. Perhaps even more, though, they are enjoying his dance celebration.
Against Arsenal the other week and again versus Fulham, the Samba star did a dance celebration after scoring.
That celebration has since gone viral online. United fan pages and Premier League fan pages alike have been posting clips of United fans doing the “Cunha surfing celebration.
Even 433 shared it on Instagram, and interestingly, United’s top winger target, AC Milan’s Leao, could not resist reposting it via his IG stories.
Someone explain to me why is Rafael Leo reposting the 433 video of Cunha celebration on IG ????😭😭😭–
Leao doing that just days after it emerged he was high on United’s winger shortlist is clearly of interest to the Old Trafford faithful.
It is the worst‑kept secret that United will be scouring the market for a left winger, having realised they no longer possess a natural option in that role.
Therefore, Leao sharing Cunha’s celebration should be seen by many as a hint: he is clearly a fan.
Surely, that ought to give INEOS confidence that he can be convinced to swap Milan for Manchester. Encouragingly, the Rossoneri are reportedly open to letting him go this summer.
