Rafael Obrador, Benfica left-back on loan at Torino, suffered a strain to the right soleus and was forced off at half-time against Fiorentina. Subsequent tests confirmed the injury.

Torino said in a statement that there is no definitive prognosis, with recovery dependent on how the injury evolves clinically. It added the left-back will be unavailable for the next matches.

The setback comes as the 21-year-old had begun to establish himself as a starter under Marco Baroni. The pause halts his momentum and leaves uncertainty over his impact for the remainder of the season.

Obrador is on loan until the end of the campaign, with a purchase option set at nine million euros. The calf problem further clouds his near-term future at the Serie A side, currently 13th.

This season he has made seven appearances, three in Serie A, one in the Coppa Italia, one in the Liga Portugal Betclic and two in the Segunda Liga, totalling 411 minutes and one assist. He is valued at two million euros and remains under contract with Benfica until June 2030.
