Rafael Obrador could now head to Spain this month, with Real Madrid monitoring his progress. Record reports that plans around the Benfica left-back have shifted during the winter window, though the Spanish suitors were not named.

Earlier indications had pointed him towards Torino, but that scenario has changed and Serie A is not expected to be his destination. The defender is seeking a competitive project where he can play regularly and continue his development.

Torino’s offer was a loan with an option to buy. Benfica are open to that structure, yet consider the two million euros option too low and would want a higher return to sanction a permanent sale.

There have also been indications that Real Madrid could activate a buy-back clause, then place the player with another side at a higher level to gain minutes. The Spanish club are said to rate his potential highly.

This season Obrador has made three appearances for Benfica, one in the Liga Portugal Betclic and two in the Segunda Liga, totalling 237 minutes. He has one goal and one assist, and his contract runs until June 2030.
