The construction of a mask has allowed Kylian Mbappé (25) to compete in Euro 2024, after fracturing his nose in the opener against Austria. However, the France captain isn’t a fan of wearing it, describing playing in a mask as “an absolute horror,” in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.

He added, “It limits my vision, the sweat gets blocked. It felt like I was in 3D and that I was a VIP guest at the Euros.” The limiting of peripheral vision is one of the major drawbacks of the mask, which may in part explain Mbappé’s under-performance at Euro 2024 so far. The now-former Paris Saint-Germain forward has netted just once thus far, from the spot against Poland in the final group-stage game.

Some of his teammates have also had time to try on the mask, including PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani (25). The former FC Nantes forward gave his verdict on the equipment. “I tried it on. You see nothing! It’s difficult. We laugh about it,” said Kolo Muani.
