Rangers banned all Celtic fans from Ibrox in 2024 due to Green Brigade threat

The only thing this club has got right this entire campaign, is to banish the Union Bears from Celtic Park…

This entire campaign has gone from disgrace to disaster and back again from the word go, and hasn’t showed any signs of subsiding any as the season enters it’s final few weeks.

Without getting into the full details, you like me know what’s gone wrong, and who  is to blame for our Celtic’s woes. It’s strikingly obvious to anyone with an inch of common sense.

Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong, and yes you guessed it, the suits who run our club are overwhelmingly responsible for pretty much the entire fiasco of a season. Something we haven’t been shy in calling out, and rightly so as the Celtic support came together to create the much needed Celtic Fans Collective.

So it’s only fair that I commend the Celtic Board after they this week came to the correct conclusion for once. That of course was the news that broke yesterday afternoon on Celtic’s stance on the matter of whether the Rangers Ultras group The Union Bears should be in attendance at the upcoming Glasgow derby at Celtic Park.

After the club issued an ultimatum to our Glasgow rivals The Rangers in relation to their balaclava wearing ultras, which was, simply put, that there will be no full allocation unless the Union Bears are denied tickets, an offer the Ibrox side declined as they chose to stand by their thuggish supporters whose actions have now caught up with them.

Unsurprisingly it’s since been confirmed that zero supporters of the Ibrox side will be in attendance on Sunday 10th May when the two sides clash in one of the most important fixtures between the two in recent years, and for once the Celtic hierarchy aren’t to blame.

The latest Ibrox club, as it their right, have taken the matter to the SPFL who will form a sub committee to determine a final outcome on this row and both clubs will  have to live with that decision.  It’s worth pointing out that the first club to act to ban an Ultras group was in fact the Rangers when they banned ALL away supporters from a SWPL1 Glasgow Derby at Ibrox because they claimed they had intelligence that the Green Brigade planned to attend the match to cheer on the Celtic FC Women side.

Caitlin Hayes you may recall wore and displayed a protest t-shirt under her Celtic jersey that called the immortal Jock Stein quote – ‘Football Without Fans ins Nothing’. So my message to the Rangers is this: “YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!”

It shouldn’t be forgotten that In the aftermath of the dramatic shoot out win in the Scottish cup quarter final at Ibrox last month, we witnessed some shocking scenes that seen members of our coaching staff assaulted on the pitch, and our supporters put in harms way by the mask wearing thugs that call themselves the Union Bears. A flare will reckless and dangerous intent was fired from on the Ibrox pitch by these Rangers ultras into the Celtic support in the Broomloan Road stand. These appalling incidents were shown on live television and is currently the subject of an active independent investigation organised by the Scottish FA.

Do we really want these moronic thugs inside our stadium, and in close proximity to our players, staff and supporters, especially those in the nearby family section? No of course we don’t. The club in my view for once this season have done the right thing. Credit where credit is due.
