Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland will miss the upcoming Glasgow Derby double header through injury. The ex-Hearts attacker joined Rangers on a free transfer during the summer and was handed the armband by Derek McInnes.

After picking up an early knock during Saturday’s game against Motherwell, it has been revealed that the forward will miss up to two months with a hamstring injury.

Celtic travel to Ibrox on Sunday as the sides meet in the Premier Sports Cup Quarter Final before the sides meet again the following week at the home of the Scottish Champions.

Shankland’s last visit to Celtic Park ended in utter misery for the Scotland striker.
