Rangers are keen on PSV Eindhoven star Adamo Nagalo, and an approach to prise the defender away this summer ‘could quickly materialise’, though they face competition from Turkey.

The Scottish giants have already bolstered their central defensive ranks with the additions of Ben Godfrey and Olwethu Makhanya.

Further reinforcements have also arrived at Ibrox across the full-back positions, with Ross McCrorie, James Penrice and, most recently, Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa joining the defensive ranks.

Derek McInnes lauded Nedeljkovic as an athletic and energetic presence following the Serbian’s arrival on loan.

But that has done little to settle Rangers’ defensive concerns, with the Gers still searching for their first clean sheet of the season and continuing to explore avenues for further strengthening.

That search has led them towards Nagalo, with Rangers ‘showing strong interest’ in the defender as they explore the possibility of bringing him to Glasgow this summer, according to Africafoot.

The Gers genuinely ‘appreciate the profile’ of the Burkina Faso international, viewing him as a player whose attributes could add another dimension to central defence.

With Rangers’ interest growing, it ‘could quickly materialise with an approach’ to PSV Eindhoven in the coming days as they look to turn their admiration into something more tangible.

The Dutch giants are understood to be open to finding Nagalo a new destination, with the centre-back seemingly outside their plans despite still having three years remaining on his contract.

The Burkina Faso international spent the second half of last season with Konyaspor, who remain interested in bringing him back, while fellow Turkish outfit Corum FK are also eager to secure his services.

Nagalo’s preference remains unclear, although Rangers could have a chance of luring him to Ibrox if they place a proposal capable of satisfying PSV Eindhoven.

PSV Eindhoven and the Gers were on the verge of doing business over Couhaib Driouech earlier this month, until the Scottish giants pulled the plug at the final hurdle.

It is unclear if that has angered the Dutch club, who Rangers now need to play ball over Nagalo.
