Danny Rohl and Rangers want another attacker before the transfer deadline, with Leeds United's Joel Piroe and a Southampton striker both eyed.
Scottish giants Rangers FC are keen on a number of strikers before Monday's transfer deadlien - including players south of the border in English football.
Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has managed to turn things around after replacing Russell Martin earlier in the campaign. The Englishman gained promotion with Southampton but was unable to get things going at Ibrox, leading to an early season dismissal.
However, they want more firepower, in spite of their improved form. Rangers sit second and are two points ahead of Celtic, while also sat four behind Hearts after 23 games.
Despite conceding the fewest goals in the division (17), they have scored 37. Both Celtic and Hearts surpass that total, which is why the Gers have been linked with a multitude of strikers.

Middlesbrough and Celtic have been linked with a move for Piroe, as well as Rangers, with the Dutchman out of favour and out of form in West Yorkshire. It's since been reported Piroe is keen to remain at Leeds and fight for his place.
Florian Plettenberg first revealed Rangers' interest in Piroe, with Mark McAdam of Sky Sports confirming that on Friday. However, he also revealed a Championship striker is on their radar as an alternative.
The latest comes from Alex Crook regarding the futures of Southampton duo Cameron Archer and Adam Armstrong, with one of the pair able to leave St. Mary's if a striker is signed, and Archer's destination could be Rangers.
Like McAdam, Crook has revealed Rangers are among the clubs interested in Archer before Monday's transfer deadline. It's clear Rohl wants another attacker before the window shuts, and with the ex-Aston Villa man out of favour at St Mary's Stadium, a switch could feasibly happen.
The 24-year-old has scored just twice in 19 Championship appearances this season for Saints, starting just six times under Will Still and Tonda Eckert.

Piroe is extremely unlikely to be allowed to move on, per the latest update from Graham Smyth of The Yorkshire Evening Post, which could mean Archer is the more likely addition for the Scottish giants.
He believes that someone at the Rangers end said to him that there is "more chance of rain in hell" than him signing before the deadline, even despite the links between the two clubs thanks to 49ers Enterprises' investment at Ibrox.
Despite that, a move for Archer may well hinge on Southampton signing another striker, as he's not the only one being linked with leaving Tonda Eckert's squad.
Adam Armstrong has interest from Middlesbrough, and it's unlikely that Southampton would allow his departure on top of Archer's. Wrexham have been quoted £15 million for Armstrong, too, for one of the Championship's leading marksmen.
