Rangers have failed with a bid for 20-year-old Almeria centre-back Kaiky, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Philippe Clement is looking to make more additions to his Rangers squad in the final week of the summer transfer window.

The Rangers boss still wants more options in central defender and the club are working towards trying to bring in one more centre-back at least.

Kaiky, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Albacete, has been identified as a top target by the Rangers recruitment team.

However, it has been claimed that Almeria have knocked back a bid for the centre-back from the Glasgow giants.

Rangers offered to sign him on loan for a fee of €750,000 with a buy option of €7m attached to the potential deal.

The Glasgow giants were also ready to include a 30 per cent sell-on clause to the agreement.

However, the bid was not enough for Almeria to accept and it remains to be seen whether Rangers improve their offer for Kaiky in the coming days.
