Rangers’ four in a row hides a lack of improvement

Article image:Rangers’ four in a row hides a lack of improvement

Despite Rangers’ success over Livi this weekend, few realistic Ibrox fans would consider the four wins in a row to be a new dawn.

Sure, social media brings out awful mentality and behaviour where reality changes and Danny Rohl is in fact God, but the truth is a lot grimmer.

Scraping wins

Rangers have been god-awful in the league, and are scraping wins against truly diabolical teams. Hibs away was barely an outlier, given Rohl’s men were lucky there too.

Rohl hasn’t managed a single convincing win since arriving, with uniformly awful performances that have already been punished several times by teams better than Livi.

Celtic, Brann and Roma all took Rangers apart, and we even heard Martin and Clement-like press garbage from the coach that he was ‘pleased with the attitude’.

Speaking of, there were a few reactions about the Belgian’s debut loss for Norwich and his interview afterwards where he said carbon copy nonsense of what he used to spout at Rangers.

Martin did the same, excuse after excuse and identikit of his past clubs. Well Rohl sounds a lot like that as well at times.

But fans like him so he gets slack.

Lyall Cameron

And yet Rohl has already cast Lyall Cameron out who many supporters want to see. The results in the league might justify this but the performances don’t.

There doesn’t seem to be any clear identity in this Rangers team, despite the affection fans have for this coach. No leaders, no passion, the same indifferent displays. Nico Raskin especially looks like the man who’s wanted away for a very long time.

The difference? Rohl is getting the luck in the league that Martin got in the UCL qualifiers. His team was crap yet somehow got past two rounds. No one can really tell us Rohl’s Rangers is any good.

That Rangers got 3 points by way of sheer fortune late on against the bottom side AT HOME is not telling this Rangers group that things are better.

Happy Clappers

We’re sure the happy clappers will give us the usual abuse, call us tims, say ‘you really a Rangers page/site’ etc but we see no improvement in performances on the pitch at all. Just in fortune.

Under Martin, Martinez conceded a penalty 100%.

For now, Rohl’s luck is holding in the league. But luck runs out. And the social media memes praising Danny, Danny Rohl may start to quieten down. And attention will turn again to Kevin Thelwell. Rangers’ success over Livi doesn’t fix everything.

He’s the bad guy these days, let’s not forget!
