Rangers have spoken to former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their search for a new boss continues, according to the Sun.
They are desperate to replace Russell Martin with a manager who can hit the ground running at Ibrox, and talks have been held with the Norwegian.
Besiktas sacked Solskjaer in August after only seven months in charge, and Rangers have approached him to discuss the vacancy at the club.
Rangers have assessed other options. They spoke with former Mainz and Union Berlin manager Bo Svensson.
Talks were held last week, but the 46-year-old Dane withdrew from the race over the weekend.
Kevin Muscat and Danny Rohl are also in the running for the Rangers job after Steven Gerrard rejected the opportunity to return following face-to-face talks.
The Liverpool hero was in London to discuss the role, but he turned them down due to doubts over the current sporting structure.
Solskjaer has plenty of experience, having also managed Molde and Cardiff City, but whether working at Rangers appeals to him is unclear.
Svensson was keen to take the job, but he did not want to wait around and has moved on.
Heart of Midlothian manager Derek McInnes has also been linked with the job after an unbeaten start to the 2025-26 Premiership campaign.
Hearts are top of the league after seven games, but he has insisted that he is ‘absolutely committed’ to his current club and has no plans to leave.
Rangers are under pressure to get their next managerial appointment right, and the fans will hope their next boss does not disappoint.
