Rangers need to focus 100% on the Scottish Premiership now

Rangers’ inevitable exit from the Europa League League phase can’t come quick enough. Rangers SPL priorities are vital.
It’s the worst run in Europe post-2012 Rangers have suffered, with just those two bizarre Champions League qualification tie wins over Panathinaiks and Plzen to sing about. One was managed by Barry and the other by Martin, so we can’t even fathom how we won either.
But the reality appeared once the Europa League competition proper began.
And this is why Rangers need that tournament to end for us, so Danny Rohl can concentrate on domestic matters.
By hook or by crook this coach is getting results in the league, and that is the bread and butter for this club.
Rangers NEED a credible league campaign, after Russell Martin’s borderline criminal reign would have had us relegated.
Thanks to a bit of uplift from Rohl in the league, Rangers are now third in the table (fourth on goal difference). It’s a better state of affairs after being second from bottom.
But that’s the priority. And the Europa League is just a distraction.
Forget Rohl in Europe, he’s not up to it. His team hasn’t scored a single goal in Europe and he can’t get them to play at that level.
But domestically in the league it’s a different story.
It’s not all-singing-all-dancing but 9 points from 9 is what matters.
Whether it can continue is another matter, but to give it a chance of doing so Rangers need no continental distractions. Hence the sooner we’re out of the UEL the better. Roma have not been great in the UEL (23rd when we faced them) but they crushed us easily.
This coach can’t cope with that level, and neither can this squad.
So the sooner we’re focused 100% on the league without the Thursday Cup to distract us, honestly the better. Rangers SPL priorities.
