Russell Martin knows this player very well. He tried to sign him during spells at Swansea and Southampton. That pursuit did not succeed but the intent was always clear. Now as Rangers manager he finally has the chance to get the man he wanted for years. That persistence matters because it shows Rangers see Miovski as more than a quick fix. They see him as a leading striker who can lift the whole forward line.

Rangers need goals and they need a presence up front. The current squad has lacked both since Alfredo Morelos left the club. Cyriel Dessers has not delivered the consistency required and the other options have drifted in and out of the team. Miovski would walk into this side and instantly carry the weight of expectation. The question is whether Rangers can afford the terms demanded and convince Girona to settle on a deal.

There is confidence in the negotiations though. Miovski himself prefers a permanent move rather than another loan adventure. That suits Rangers because they want stability and they want players tied down. The fans are desperate for a striker who looks like he belongs at Ibrox and who can score in the league and in Europe. Miovski ticks all those boxes and the supporters know it.

This deal now comes down to finance and timing. Girona have shown they will sell and Rangers have to close it out. If they hesitate then another club could enter the race and take him away. The board cannot allow that to happen again.

Rangers need a striker who can score goals every week. They need a forward who thrives under pressure and who understands the Scottish game. Bojan Miovski gives them that option and the likelihood of him pulling on the shirt now feels very real. Bojan Miovski to move to Rangers.
