Rangers wrapped up their home campaign with a 3-1 win over Dundee United at Ibrox, but the performance was far from inspiring. Despite the victory, the atmosphere remained subdued, reflecting fans’ frustration and disillusionment. Cyriel Dessers scored twice, bringing his season tally to 28, and Nico Raskin added a third. Interim manager Barry Ferguson, joined by players in thanking fans, now faces a decisive final game at Easter Road on Saturday before his managerial future is determined .

🧤 Jack Butland – 7

Back in goal and made a couple of decent saves to keep United from extending their lead. Solid enough, though not overly tested.

🛡️ James Tavernier – 3

A shadow of his usual self. Caught napping for United’s opener and offered little going forward. Handing the penalty to Dessers was a nice gesture, but his overall performance was lacking.

🛡️ John Souttar – 6

Did his job without much fuss. Steady at the back but didn’t stand out.

🛡️ Leon Balogun – 7

One of the more composed defenders on the night. Handled his duties well and showed leadership at the back.

🛡️ Jefte – 8

Arguably the standout performer. Delivered a pinpoint cross for Dessers’ first goal and was a constant threat down the left. Defensively sound as well.

⚙️ Connor Barron – 5

Struggled to impose himself in midfield. A quiet game where he failed to make a significant impact.

⚙️ Nico Raskin – 9

Man of the Match. Dominated the midfield and capped off his performance with a well-taken goal. A class above the rest.

🎯 Vaclav Cerny – 6

Showed glimpses of creativity and provided the assist for Raskin’s goal. However, he faded in and out of the game.

🎯 Mohammed Diomande – 6

Won the penalty that put Rangers ahead but was otherwise inconsistent. Needs to find more consistency in his play.

🎯 Hamza Igamane – 5

Had an early chance but failed to capitalize. Didn’t offer much else and was subbed off in the second half.

⚽ Cyriel Dessers – 8

Scored two goals, including a penalty, taking his season tally to 28. A constant threat up front and showed good composure.

🔁 Substitutes

  • Neraysho Kasanwirjo – 5: Came on late, didn’t have much time to influence the game.
  • Tom Lawrence – 4: Minimal impact after coming on.
  • Oscar Cortes – 5: Showed some energy but lacked end product.
  • Danilo – 4: Barely involved after his introduction.
  • Bailey Rice – 4: Not enough time to make a difference.

🧠 Manager: Barry Ferguson – 5

Got the win, but the performance was lackluster. The team lacked urgency and creativity for large spells. His future remains uncertain, and this display won’t have done him many favours.

⚖️ Final Verdict

A win on paper, but the performance left much to be desired. Rangers need a significant overhaul in the summer to challenge for honours next season.
