Rangers reject £6M for Hagi as two Euro giants move in | OneFootball

Rangers have rejected a £6M bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for Romanian superstar Ianis Hagi, with the club expecting considerably more for the playmaker.

Reports in Romania confirm a sub-£10M bid arrived in Glasgow over the weekend but claim the player is considered an integral part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst plans going forward, albeit we’re not sure how true that is.

Hagi of course has been injured since January missing half the season, and until then had been used on the right wing in the absence of Amad Diallo impressing, but he was always a player Gio was subbing off so with his own mark on the team this summer we don’t know exactly who is considerable ‘indispensable’. Aside James Tavernier.

We do suspect, like any other player, Hagi has his price – a £3M signing from Genk, Roma are certainly interested and would have made a move but for his injury, and now Gala have stolen a march and tested the waters with a bid.

Time will tell if Jose comes in as well with a serious number, but now both clubs know what is well below Rangers’ asking price.
