Rangers midfielder Mohamed Diomande is wanted by Turkish side Corum FK.

Gers boss Derek McInnes named Diomande on the bench at Ibrox on Sunday as Rangers took on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership.

He introduced Diomande at the break with Rangers trailing, with the midfielder coming on to replace Vanja Dragojevic, but his efforts were not enough to stop the Gers losing 2-1.

McInnes has a host of midfield options, including new boy Dragojevic, Nicolas Raskin, Cammy Devlin, Dan Neil and Tochi Chukwuani, while Ross McCrorie can also slot into defensive midfield.

What the Gers’ position is on keeping Diomande is unclear, but now the midfielder does have transfer interest from Turkey.

Newly promoted Turkish Super Lig side Corum FK are showing interest in signing Diomande, according to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun.

Corum FK are keen to make a splash in the top flight and feel that Diomande fits the bill.

Rangers signed the 24-year-old midfielder from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland in the winter transfer window of 2024.

He quickly established himself as a reliable option in the engine room at Ibrox, but faces a fight for his spot now given the fresh arrivals in Glasgow.

It remains to be seen if Corum FK make a firm proposal for Diomande soon and whether the amount is enough to make Rangers consider selling him.

The Gers are working to make further signings, with PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech a big target, although there is serious competition from Celta Vigo.

One winger has already been added to the Gers squad in the shape of Japanese wide-man Daisuke Yokota.

Selling Diomande for a substantial sum would bolster McInnes’ transfer kitty, with still almost a month of the summer transfer window left to do deals.
