Rangers and Queen’s Park meet at Ibrox on Sunday in an all-Glasgow showdown in the fifth round of the Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup.
The visitors from the Championship earned a lucrative second chance in the competition after Stranraer were thrown out for fielding an ineligible player, paving the way for a rematch of last season’s stunning Spiders victory at the same stage and on the same ground.
Rangers will once more be without midfielder Connor Barron, who faces an absence of roughly eight to twelve weeks after sustaining knee ligament damage in a 2–0 win over Aberdeen at the start of January.
Bailey Rice is also unavailable as he continues to recover from a muscle problem and will play no part in this cup tie.
Defender Derek Cornelius has been sidelined since November with a serious muscle injury picked up on international duty with Canada; although he is gradually making progress in his rehabilitation following surgery, he is still short of the fitness required to feature in the match.
Head coach Danny Rohl is anticipated to shuffle his pack, with reserve goalkeeper Liam Kelly, full-back Max Aarons and midfielder Nedim Bajrami among those expected to be drafted into the starting XI against second-tier opposition.
Possible Rangers starting XI: Kelly; Aarons, Djiga, Souttar, Meghoma; Chukwuani, Bajrami; Gassama, Naderi, Moore; Chermiti
The match will kick off at 2pm BST on Sunday, 8th February.
In the United Kingdom, the Scottish Cup tie between Rangers and Queen’s Park will be shown live on Premier Sports.
